My name is Sarah and I am a senior at the University of Kentucky studying Natural Sciences and Geology. I work as a Project Engineer in industrial construction and enjoy understanding the processes of design-build and project planning! In my free time I like to paint or travel with my husband.

My passion for the natural sciences comes from curiosity about Earth's processes and natural resources. I love understanding how things work, from a microscopic level to a big-picture level, so that I can apply this knowledge to the preservation of Earth's nature beauty. Although I work in industrial construction on large-scale projects, I care about protecting the environment while maximizing economic opportunities in underdeveloped communities.

I also love volunteering for a nonprofit that prioritizes building resilient homes in extreme weather affected areas. This volunteering position involves supporting communities that are affected by earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes. One of my priorities is to ensure that as many people as possible are reached by organizations that will make their homes resilient and safe so that they may enjoy a higher quality of life.
